I guess school was never a place I wanted to be...then. Now it looks real good. But right outside of Gate 2, Junior Lechner had a cafe, three foot long po boys. He said that it would feed a family of four or two hungry teenagers. But the main place was the Schnoor out on the Point. Best po boys, and a long neck Barq's root beer.

But those days are are gone, but still get a taste for them every once in a while.

Coach Joe Sabbitini...a man whom I had since Jr High, a man who had never spoke two words to me. But one day in the late fall, just cool enough for a jacket, a friend of mine and myself, walking to school...yes we were smoking...came up on the front steps of the school. George had thrown his down, but for some reason I forgot. We walked into the front hall, and Coach Joe walked up, just a few minutes after I realized I had the cigarette in my hand. I shoved my hand (with a cup HOT cigarette), into my pocket. Try talking to a teacher, while a whole is forming in your hand. lol. When we finally got rid of him, I think I broke the world sprint record getting to the upstairs bathroom. You know, never figured out if he knew.
